Our Story

BLR64 started with a simple observation: parents shouldn't have to struggle to follow their child's chess tournament. Whether it's a State U10 championship or the World Youth Chess Championship, parents and coaches deserve a simple way to watch games live, understand the competition, and follow the action as it unfolds.

We built BLR64 — short for Bangalore 64 Squares — as a single place to watch live chess from tournaments around the world. No downloads, no complicated setups. Just open the site, pick a tournament, and start watching.

What sets us apart is our focus on youth chess. We cover age-group championships at every level — from local State events to National, Asian, and World Youth Championships. Parents can follow not just their child's games, but every game in that section, so they can understand how competitors are playing and what to expect in upcoming rounds.

Built and maintained by chess enthusiasts from Bangalore, BLR64 is a passion project born from the Indian youth chess community.

For Parents & Coaches

BLR64 was designed with chess parents in mind. When your child is competing in a big tournament, you want to know what's happening — not just in their game, but across the entire section.

Who is your child likely to face next? How are the top seeds performing? What openings are the competitors playing? BLR64 gives you the tools to answer these questions:

Browse every game in a round. Click any board to see the full notation. Use Stockfish to evaluate critical positions. All of this from your phone or laptop. No chess expertise needed — the engine does the heavy lifting.

We cover all FIDE age categories:

How It Works

BLR64 pulls live game data from trusted sources including Lichess, Chess.com, and custom PGN feeds. Games are refreshed automatically so you always see the latest moves.

When you click "Analyze" on any game, we load Stockfish — the world's strongest open-source chess engine — directly in your browser using WebAssembly technology. No server needed, no data leaves your device. The engine evaluates every position and shows you the best moves, variations, and scores.

For tournament results and standings, we integrate with ChessBase Live widgets when available, giving you pairings, standings, and cross-tables alongside the live games.
